NFL Icons is a documentary series celebrating the biggest names in the history of pro football. Each of the eight one-hour episodes in Season Two will focus on a single subject, whose career comes to life through a deep dive into the NFL Films archive. The new episodes, premiering in fall 2022, will cover Hall of Famers Troy Aikman, Cris Carter, Tony Dungy, Jimmy Johnson, Ray Lewis, John Madden, Walter Payton, and Steve Young. These are the names you know, documented, and dramatized as nowhere else—through decades of interviews, highlights, mic’d up sound, and never-before-seen off-the-field moments, captured by NFL Films and placed into fresh context with primary-source news coverage and narrator Rich Eisen. Driven by each Icon’s story, as told in his own words from throughout his life, NFL Icons is a documentary series 60 years in the making, a collection of the record-breaking accomplishments, emotional journeys, and singular legacies of those who made the game.
