NFL: The Grind

Hosted by Emmy-nominated broadcaster Rich Eisen, the 17-episode season of “NFL: The Grind” airs Wednesdays at 9pm ET on EPIX throughout the entirety of the 2019 NFL season.

“NFL: The Grind” will serve as both a weekly destination for the final word on the week in football, as well as an up close and personal, inside look at life in the NFL – on and off the field – across the endurance test that is the NFL season. In addition to a weekly deep dive into the games, each episode will feature original field pieces – each hosted by an NFL veteran – that will give fans an inside look behind the grind, documenting never-before-told stories of NFL players, coaches and more as they navigate the season.

Godfather of Harlem

Godfather of Harlem stars Academy Award®-winning actor Forest Whitaker as the infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson.

Produced by ABC Signature Studios, the series features an all-star cast including Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Paul Sorvino and Giancarlo Esposito.  The first episode was directed by Academy Award winner John Ridley.

“Godfather of Harlem” is inspired by the story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson, who in the early 1960’s, returned home from ten years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles.  With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy must take on the Genovese crime family to regain control.  During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X – catching Malcom’s political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart.  “Godfather of Harlem” is a collision of the criminal underworld and the civil rights movement during one of the most tumultuous times in American history.

Deep State – Season 2

Premiered April 28, 2019 @ 9 PM ET/PT on EPIX

The gripping and prescient espionage drama Deep State is back – with some exciting new cast joining returning favorites in a fresh and riveting storyline. Three U.S. Special Forces are killed in an ambush in Mali. The U.S. are supposedly there to support the Malians in their fight against terrorism. However, all is not as it seems. As the story progresses, we realize that their activity is underpinned by the deep state and forms part of a cover for the new gold rush – the goal to beat China in the race for African natural resources – oil, gas, ore and minerals. It is the first dirty war for clean energy.

Returning from season one are Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones, Skins), Karima McAdams (Fearless, Vikings), Alistair Petrie (Sex Education, Damages) and Anastasia Griffith (Damages, Once Upon a Time). New cast members to season two are Walton Goggins (Ant-Man and the Wasp, Tomb Raider), Lily Banda (The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind), Victoria Hamilton (The Crown, Doctor Foster), Zainab Jah (Elementary, Homeland) and Alexander Siddig (The Spy, Gotham).

PUNK

Premiered March 11, 2019 at 10 PM ET/PT, 9 C

Punk is a four-part docuseries from executive producer John Varvatos. Varvatos brings his passion and deep connection to the roots of the PUNK movement to the series, partnering with filmmaker Derik Murray’s Network Entertainment to produce the quintessential story of punk.

Featuring original interviews with America’s punk pioneers and the U.K.’s most notorious bands, alongside a seamless blend of rare and unseen photos, gritty archival film and video, a crackling soundtrack of punk hits and misses, Punk explores the music, the fashion, the art and the DIY attitude of a subculture of self-described misfits and outcasts.

Iggy Pop joins the series as an executive producer, and adds his voice alongside exclusive interviews with luminaries such as artists Johnny Rotten (Sex Pistols/Public Image Ltd./PiL), Marky Ramone (Ramones), Debbie Harry and Chris Stein (Blondie), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys/Alternative Tentacles), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters), as well as industry legends Danny Fields (Elektra Records), Legs McNeil (Please Kill Me/Punk Magazine), and filmmaker Penelope Spheeris (The Decline of Western Civilization, Wayne’s World).

Perpetual Grace, LTD.

Premiered June 2, 2019 on EPIX

Perpetual Grace, LTD. is a 10-episode modern noir drama from MGM Television, which follows James (Emmy® award nominee Jimmi Simpson), a young grifter, as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown (Academy Award® winner Sir Ben Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than he suspects. The pastor and his wife Lillian (Academy Award® nominee Jacki Weaver)—known to their parishioners as Pa and Ma—have used religion to bilk hundreds of innocent people out of their life savings.

Steve Conrad and Bruce Terris (Patriot) serve as executive producers and showrunners, with Steve Conrad directing six episodes. Joining Conrad and Terris as executive producers are Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch. The series will be produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM.

Pennyworth

From Warner Horizon Scripted Television, DC origin story Pennyworth is a ten-episode, one-hour drama series based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger.  It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), Bruce’s billionaire father, in 1960’s London.

Bruno Heller (Gotham, The Mentalist, Rome) serves as executive producer/writer and Danny Cannon serves as executive producer/director (Gotham, CSI series).

Berlin Station: Season 3

Premiered December 2, 2018 @ 9 PM ET/PT on EPIX

Newly promoted to Chief of Station, Valerie Edwards (Michelle Forbes) sends Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage) and Robert Kirsch (Leland Orser) on a diplomatic mission to Estonia, where they uncover signs of an impending Russian invasion, threatening to destabilize the NATO Alliance. Daniel stays behind to search for the truth, but goes MIA during his mission. The rest of the team, joined by Special Activities Case Officer Rafael Torres (Ismael Cruz Córdova), must work to unravel the conspiracy and bring Daniel home. Also stars Ashley Judd, Keke Palmer, Richard Jenkins and Rhys Ifans. James Cromwell will recur as a guest, playing Gilbert Dorn, a former CIA legend put out to pasture who appears on a podcast revealing information about past missions

Get Shorty: Season 2

Premiered August 12, 2018 on EPIX

The dark comedy from MGM Television, inspired by the 1990’s bestselling Elmore Leonard novel of the same name and created for television by Davey Holmes (Shameless, In Treatment), will return for its second season on EPIX August 12, 2018.

In season two, Miles Daly (Chris O’Dowd) struggles to reconcile his ambitions as a filmmaker and a family man with his skill set as a career criminal. His progress in Hollywood is jeopardized when the washed-up producer (Ray Romano) with whom he partnered in season one agrees to wear a Federal wire.  Miles faces off with criminal financiers and with a Hollywood power-broker who could be the most dangerous of all.    

The cast is led by Screen Actors Guild Award® and BAFTA TV Award nominee O’Dowd (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, The Sapphires, Bridesmaids) and multiple Emmy® winner Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond, Men of a Certain Age, Parenthood), and also includes Sean Bridgers (Rectify, Room), Carolyn Dodd (The Adventures of Catty Wompus), Lidia Porto (Horrible Bosses 2), Goya Robles (11:55), Megan Stevenson (Review), and Lucy Walters (Power). Sarah Stiles (I’m Dying Up Here, Unsane) returns in season two and has been upped to series regular, and Felicity Huffman (Transamerica, Desperate Housewives) is joining the cast as a recurring guest star. O’Dowd plays Miles Daly, muscle for a Nevada crime ring who tries to become a movie producer in Hollywood as a means to leave his criminal past behind and win back his recently-estranged family.  There, he meets Rick Moreweather (Romano), a washed up producer of low quality films who is desperately hanging on to the rungs of Hollywood relevancy and begrudgingly becomes Miles’ partner and guide through the maze of show business.  Along with his criminal associate Louis (Bridgers), Miles attempts to keep his worlds from colliding as he balances the demands of filmmaking while keeping the suspicions of the crime ring’s chief – and production bankroll – Amara (Porto) and her dangerous nephew, Yago (Robles) at bay.  Also involved in the production is ambitious studio executive April Quinn (Stevenson), who started in the business as Rick’s assistant, as well as Miles’ beloved daughter Emma (Dodd) – despite objections from Miles’ estranged wife, Katie (Walters).

Created for television by Davey Holmes (Shameless, In Treatment, Damages), Get Shorty is executive produced by Holmes and Emmy nominee Allen Coulter (The Sopranos, Damages) who also directs the first episode. Adam Arkin (The Americans, Billions) directed three episodes of the series and is also a co-executive producer. The series is produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM.

Slow Burn

Slow Burn is a six-episode docuseries based on the hit podcast of the same name.

Expanding on the podcast’s first season, Leon Neyfakh will look back on the Watergate crisis, excavating the strange subplots and forgotten characters involved in the downfall of a president — and flashing back to politically tumultuous times not so far removed from today.  Slow Burn, winner of Best Podcast at the first iHeartRadio Podcast Awards, is produced by Slate. The docuseries will be produced in partnership between Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company, and Slate.
