New York, NY – January 10, 2023 – Following the UK renewal, MGM+ has announced that hit war drama Rogue Heroes will also return to the premium linear channel and streaming service for a second season. Produced by Kudos (a Banijay UK company) and Nebulastar and based on Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book of the same name, Rogue Heroes is a dramatized account of how the world’s greatest Special Forces unit, the SAS, was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of World War Two. Filming will begin on the second season later this year.

“The first season of Rogue Heroes captivated stateside audiences with its gripping and spirited storytelling about the formation of the SAS,” said Michael Wright, Head of MGM+. “It was immediately clear that there’s so much story to tell about this band of rag-tag soldiers and we couldn’t be more excited to see what Stephen Knight and Kudos have in store for the second season.”

“Having introduced the remarkable truth about how the SAS were formed, I can’t wait to reveal how this small band of young warriors went on to help win the defining war of the twentieth century,” said Steven Knight, creator, writer and executive producer.

Rogue Heroes season one was developed for television and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Taboo, A Christmas Carol) and directed by Tom Shankland (The Serpent, The Missing), with Stephen Smallwood (The Serpent, Patrick Melrose) as producer. The series was executive produced by Karen Wilson, Martin Haines and Emma Kingsman-Lloyd for Kudos, and Tommy Bulfin for the BBC. The series is internationally distributed by Banijay Rights.

The first season starred Connor Swindells (Sex Education, Vigil), Jack O’Connell (Skins, The North Water), Alfie Allen (Jojo Rabbit, Game of Thrones), Tom Glynn-Carney (Dunkirk, The King), Sofia Boutella (Modern Love, Atomic Blonde), and Dominic West (The Wire, Appropriate Adult).
