Louis Darnell

Played By Sean Bridgers

Sean Bridgers stars in GET SHORTY as “Louis Darnell,” Miles Daly’s partner and buddy within the crime ring. He’s a decent, salt of the earth, Mormon… but he’ll shoot you in the face if the job requires it. Louis doesn’t understand Miles’s needs to make changes, and rock the boat.

Sean Bridgers is a North Carolina native actor and filmmaker, perhaps best known as the tender-hearted Johnny Burns in HBO’s critically acclaimed series Deadwood though his work on the big and smaller screens have brought him to the attention of audiences and critics alike. More recently, he can be seen in the highly touted show The Alienist opposite Dakota Fanning for TNT as well as Thank You for Your Service for Universal Pictures and The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot for Dreamworks.

Sean played Trey Willis in the critically acclaimed Sundance series Rectify and Old Nick in the Oscar® nominated film Room.  He won Best Actor at Toronto After Dark Film Festival for his starring role as the psychopath Chris Cleek in The Woman, which premiered at Sundance in 2011. His work spans dozens of films such as Trumbo, Midnight Special, Dark Places, Sweet Home Alabama, The Best of Me, Free State of Jones and Magnificent Seven, among others.

As a filmmaker he runs Travelin’ Productions and has co-directed a number of short films (Night at the Zoo, Birthday Present). In 1996, he starred, produced and co-wrote with his mother, author Sue Ellen Bridgers, the film Paradise Falls (re-named and re-edited for release Carolina Low) which was funded and shot entirely in his hometown, Jackson County, NC.
