Nathalia Novaes was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. At the age of fifteen she started studying abroad, becoming fluent in four languages. She studied communications for two years at the University of Sao Paulo before launching her career as an international model with Elite models. In this time she struggled with a deadly eating disorder to maintain her size 2 frame. She is currently based in NYC where she works as a size 10 model with JAG agency, challenging the modeling size stereotype while attending a Women’s Studies and Communications undergraduate program at Fordham University. She is also the co-founder of ‘Todas Juntas’, an online based female empowerment platform in Brasil. Nathalia has featured in Huffington Post, Daily Mail and others speaking out about size discrimination and the importance of health over size.
