Lauren Weedman is an award-winning comedic actress, playwright and author. Weedman earned a Critic’s Choice nomination for her portrayal of Doris, the lovable best friend and series regular on HBO’s dramedy LOOKING.  She is a former correspondent for THE DAILY SHOW and has appeared on television shows such as TRUE BLOOD, UNITED STATES OF TARA, RENO 911, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, NEW GIRL, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and as the recurring show stealer “Horny Patty” on HBO’s HUNG.

In film, Weedman has earned acclaim for her role in the Judd Apatow-produced THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT, opposite Eddie Murphy in IMAGINE THAT for Paramount, and opposite Tina Fey and Steve Carell in the FOX feature DATE NIGHT.  Weedman played a role opposite Woody Harrelson in Craig Johnson’s WILSON. She also appeared in Jeff Baena’s indie films JOSHY, as well as THE LITTLE HOURS, which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

Lauren has written and performed nine solo plays, including Homecoming, which had its off-Broadway run in 2002. Last year, Weedman released her second book, a series of comedic essays based on her life, which was published by Random House. Kirkus Reviews called MISS FORTUNE a “winning essay collection,” and LA Weekly wrote of Weedman, “She’s already succeeded in showing millennials how memoir writing is done – with lots of well-digested experiences, an original voice and a scathing wit…”
