Ed

Played By Isaac Keys

Isaac Keys appears in GET SHORTY as “Ed,” Amara’s bodyguard. He is intimidating and built like a linebacker, but is intelligent and has a quiet confidence and dignity about him. Ed may not seem important, he is perhaps the person Amara trusts most.

Isaac Keys is a former professional football player-turned-actor who spent several years as an NFL linebacker before making his way to the screen. As a child, Isaac was a natural athlete, excelling at baseball at age five and football at age seven. He continued both sports during high school and was eventually presented with an opportunity to walk on at his alma mater, Morehouse College, in Atlanta.

Isaac rose to a pre-season All American, a 2-time Defensive Lineman of the Year, and was selected for 1st team All-Conference. He signed as a free agent by the Minnesota Vikings in 2001, however, injuries and lack of roster spots led him to short stints with various teams before landing on the Arizona Cardinals roster where he remained for three years.

After a deep soul searching, Keys re-directed his focus and turned to acting. He soon realized a desire to pursue acting as a career and made his first off-field / on-screen appearance as a contestant on Donald J. Trump Presents: The Ultimate Merger. He gained a great deal of notoriety through the show, and was lauded by press and audiences alike for his good looks, chiseled physique and sincere sensitivity. In addition to Get Shorty, Keys currently appears in the crime drama The Oath.  He previously guest-starred on Noches con Platanito, Fresh Off the Boat, Supergirl, Lucifer, The Player, Black Boots, Criminal Minds and The Therapist. On the big screen, Keys can be seen in such films as But Deliver Us from Evil, Jurassic World, The Sickle and Beyond the Lights.
