DAMIAN LEWIS is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actor who has worked extensively in theatre, film and television making his mark as one of this generation’s most respected and sought-after actors.

 

In Fall 2022, Damian will star and serve as executive producer on ITV’s upcoming spy thriller “A Spy Among Friends” opposite Guy Pearce.  Based on the book by Ben Macintyre, “A Spy Among Friends: Kim Philby and the Great Betrayal” the six-part series will follow the defection of notorious British intelligence officer and KGB double agent, Kim Philby (Pearce), through the lens of his complex relationship with MI6 colleague and close friend, Nicholas Elliott (Lewis).

 

Most recently on television, Damian led Showtime’s highly successful series “Billions,” opposite Paul Giamatti, Maggie Siff and Asia Kate Dillon. The critically acclaimed series had the biggest original series debut in Showtime history. He has also made indelible impressions in his performances including Major Richard “Dick” Winters in HBO’s critically acclaimed “Band of Brothers,” Sergeant Nicholas Brody in Showtime’s award-winning series “Homeland,” and Henry VIII in the PBS Masterpiece miniseries “Wolf Hall.” Other television and miniseries credits include the BAFTA-winning BBC miniseries “Warriors,” “Hearts and Bones,” “Jeffrey Archer – The Truth, “Colditz” and BBC’s “ShakespeaRe-Told: Much Ado About Nothing.”

 

On film, Lewis recently played Steve McQueen in Quentin Tarantino’s Academy Award-winning Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. He also appeared in the political drama Run This Town as infamous Toronto Mayor Rob Ford,  and the John le Carre spy thriller, Our Kind of Traitor, directed by Susanna White and written by Hossein Amini. Additional film credits include the Carlo Carlei-directed adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes; The Sweeney, a film adaptation of the popular ‘70s UK television series; David Gordon Green’s Your Highness; Rupert Wyatt’s The Escapist; Brides; Chromophobia; Keane; The Situation; Dreamcatcher; Stormbreaker and The Baker, which he also co-produced through his production company, Picture Farm.

 

On stage, Lewis has appeared in West End productions of The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, American Buffalo and The Misanthrope. As a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, he performed title roles in both Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, in addition to many other notable productions.

 

Damian is heavily involved with charity work, particularly fundraising events for environmental causes, programmes supporting at-risk populations, arts programmes for children, and events sponsoring literacy and bookstore support. Since 2000, Damian has donated his valuable time serving as an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust.
