‘CONDOR’ SEASON TWO PREMIERES NOVEMBER 7 ON EPIX

U.S. Debut of Season Two of the Action-Thriller

From MGM Television and Skydance Television

New York, NY – August 25, 2021 – Premium network EPIX¼ today announced that spy-thriller series  Condor, from MGM Television and Skydance Television, will have its U.S. premiere with two back-to-back episodes on November 7 at 9pm. (Subsequent episodes will air Sundays at 9, with a two-episode finale on December 26).  Based on the novel  Six Days of the Condor  by James Grady and screenplay “Three Days of the Condor” by Lorenzo Semple Jr. and David Rayfiel,  Condorfollows CIA analyst Joe Turner (Max Irons) who stumbles onto a plan that threatens the lives of millions.

Season two of Condor finds Joe Turner still wandering around Europe, careful not to stay in any one place long enough to put down roots or be a danger to anyone he meets. But while Joe is busy avoiding his past, it catches up with him in the form of a mysterious Russian intelligence officer who claims to be an asset working for Joe’s Uncle Bob. The officer’s life is in danger and he’s willing to trade the identity of a Russian mole in the CIA for safe passage. Joe is reluctant to help –he wants nothing to do with the CIA –but events back home compel Joe to take action and force him to face the life he thought he’d left behind.

In addition to Irons,  Condor  season two also stars Constance Zimmer, Alexei Bondar, Isidora Goreshter, Eric Johnson, Toby Leonard Moore, Jonathan Kells Phillips and Rose Rollins, with Kristen Hager and Bob Balaban returning from season one.

The series is executive produced by Jason Smilovic, Todd Katzberg, Andrew McCarthy. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost for Skydance Television, Marcy Ross, Shane Elrod and Brian Walsh, John Weber and Frank Siracusa. Smilovic and Katzberg serve as showrunners. The series is produced by MGM Television & Skydance Television with MGM being the lead studio, in association with Paramount Television. Condor is internationally distributed by MGM.

New York, NY – August 11, 2020 – Premium network EPIX¼ will debut Fiasco, a documentary series about politics, power, and uncertainty, on September 19 at 10pm. Fiasco, from Prologue Projects and Left/Right, adapts host and executive producer Leon Neyfakh’s podcast of the same name. The six-episode docuseries marks the second partnership for Neyfakh, Left/Right and EPIX, following the acclaimed Slow Burn – an incisive look at the Watergate crisis – last year.

In Fiasco, Neyfakh transports listeners into the day-to-day reality of our country’s most pivotal historical events, bringing to life the forgotten twists and turns of the past, while shedding light on the present. Season One of  Fiasco  will tell the story of the Iran-Contra affair, the Cold War-era debacle — involving a secret war in Nicaragua and an arms-for-hostages deal with Iran — that almost took down the presidency of Ronald Reagan.

Fiasco is produced by  Neyfakh’s  Prologue Projects and Left/Right.   The podcast is available exclusively on Luminary. Neyfakh, Andrew Parsons, and Steven Fisher serve as executive producers, along with Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver, and John Marks for Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company.

Leon Neyfakh is the host of Fiasco and co-creator of Slow Burn, as well as the founder of Prologue Projects, an independent podcast studio. Neyfakh started his reporting career at the  New York Observer  before joining  The Boston Globe. At Slate, he wrote about the criminal justice system before co-creating Slow Burn with Andrew Parsons.

Andrew Parsons is an award-winning audio producer and the executive producer of Prologue Projects. His work has been featured on Marketplace, Studio 360, and Snap Judgment, among other outlets. He’s been the senior producer at the history podcast BackStory and co-created and produced the first two seasons of the Slate podcast Slow Burn. He’s lectured and taught at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and serves on the Google/PRX podcast creator advisory committee.

Steven Fisher is a partner in Underground, a management and production company. In addition to managing Leon Neyfakh and Prologue Projects, Fisher most recently Executive Produced the Comedy Central special DESI LYDIC: A BROAD (nominated for a WGA Award), and the short form series OH JEROME, NO for FX (lead actor Mamoudou Athie was nominated for an Emmy). EPIXÂź RENEWS DRAMEDY ‘BRIDGE AND TUNNEL’ FOR SEASON TWO

Six-Episode Series Written, Directed and Produced by Edward Burns

Returns in 2022

New York, NY – July 14, 2021 – Premium network EPIXÂź announced today that Bridge and Tunnel has been renewed for a second season. Written, directed and produced by Edward Burns (Saving Private Ryan, Public Morals), – who also stars – this six-episode, half-hour dramedy series set in the early 1980’s revolves around a group of recent college grads setting out to pursue their dreams in Manhattan while still clinging to the familiarity of their working-class Long Island home town. Production will commence in Fall 2021 in New York, with an eye towards a 2022 premiere.

The series features a stellar ensemble cast including Sam Vartholomeos (Star Trek: Discovery), Caitlin Stasey (Reign, Please Like Me), Gigi Zumbado (9-1-1, Criminal Minds, Scream), JanLuis Castellanos (13 Reasons Why, Marvel’s Runways), Brian Muller (The Deuce, Madame Secretary, The Good Wife) andIsabella Farrell (The Good Fight).

In addition to Burns, the series is also executive produced by Aaron Lubin (Something Borrowed, Public Morals) and Lori Keith Douglas (The Village, Friends from College).  Bridge and Tunnel is produced by EPIX Studios and is internationally distributed by MGM.

Edward Burns and Aaron Lubin have been producing partners at Marlboro Road Gang Productions for the past 20 years and recently completed Burns’ 13th feature, Beneath the Blue Suburban Skies, which premiered to outstanding reviews at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. Lubin and Burns also executive produced and Burns starred in the finale episode of Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories for Amblin Partners, Universal Television and Apple Television, which premiered in March 2020 on Apple’s new platform. SEASON THREE OF ‘WAR OF THE WORLDS’ TO PREMIERE ON EPIXÂź IN 2022

New York, NY – July 6, 2021 – Premium network EPIX announced today that season three of the blockbuster series War of the Worlds has begun production and will premiere on the channel next year.  Written and created by BAFTA Award-winner Howard Overman (Misfits, Crazyhead, Merlin) and based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel of the same name, the third season sees the return of Golden Globe winner and EMMY and Tony award nominated actor Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment).

Set-in present-day France and the UK, War of the Worlds season three picks up as the war between the survivors and aliens reaches a new turning point and a terrifying phenomenon grips countless people across the globe. With stakes at an all-time high, one survivor sets out to investigate, forming a tentative partnership with another unlikely hero along the way. The pair will need to use every resource they have available to face an opposition more dangerous than ever in their fight, once again, for the survival of all humanity.

Joining the ensemble cast are BAFTA-Award winner Molly Windsor (Three Girls), Ernest Kingsley Junior, Madeleine Worral and Oliver Hembrough.

New York, NY – June 29, 2021 – Premium network EPIX announced today that Chapelwaite, based on the short story  Jerusalem’s Lot  by Stephen King and starring Academy Award¼ winner Adrien Brody and Emily Hampshire, will premiere on Sunday, August 22 at 10pm ET/PT. Set in the 1850s, the series follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

Hampshire plays Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher’s Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College, and has returned home with an advance to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine.  Her writer’s block lifts when Boone arrives in town with his children, and despite her mother’s protests, Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor and the Boone family in order to write about them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only craft the next great gothic novel, she’ll unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years.

4-Part Docuseries Written and Directed by Two-Time Emmy Award-Winner R.J. Cutler (Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, BELUSHI, The War Room)

New York, NY – June 9, 2021 – Premium network EPIX¼ has announced the greenlight of Murf the Surf, a new true crime four-part docuseries from Imagine Documentaries and R.J. Cutler’s This Machine (an Industrial Media Company) that pulls back the curtain on America’s most infamous jewel thief, Jack Roland Murphy. The docuseries is directed by Emmy Award-winner R.J. Cutler and produced by Cutler and his long time producing partner Trevor Smith (Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, BELUSHI) along with Brian Grazer (Inside Man, American Gangster), Ron Howard(Rebuilding Paradise, Apollo 13), Justin Wilkes (Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, MARS), and Sara Bernstein (Rebuilding Paradise, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel) for Imagine and Elise Pearlstein (American Factory, Food Inc.) for This Machine.

In October 2019, the NY Times published an article celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Museum of Natural History. One of the most momentous events to take place on site was an epic jewel heist, the biggest in American history, mastered by a band of suave “surfer dudes” from Miami in 1964. The key to the operation was Jack Roland Murphy, otherwise known as Murf the Surf, whose name was propelled into pop culture after the heist – creating a notoriety that would stretch far beyond the caper. What followed Murf’s meteoric rise is a spiraling tale of unspeakable crime, murder, deception and mayhem which, to this day, remains shrouded in mystery.

This four-part documentary series will explore the tumultuous life of the man behind the legendary nickname. Featuring exclusive access to Jack Roland Murphy himself prior to his death in 2020, the series will address the blurred line between fact and fiction, faith and delusion, sanity and madness – raising the timely question of who and how we believe.

Cutler is a two-time Emmy Award¼-winning director and producer and  is renowned for his critically and commercially successful documentary films including  Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, BELUSHI, The War Room, A Perfect Candidate, The September Issue, The World According to Dick Cheney, Thin and Listen to Me Marlon. He has also been a pioneer in the area of non-fiction television, having created such landmark programs as “Dear
,”  “American High,” “Freshman Diaries,” “30 Days” and many others. Cutler’s scripted work includes conceiving and directing “Nashville,” directing the feature film If I Stay starring Chloe Grace Moretz, and creating, writing, directing and producing the award-winning podcast The Oval Office Tapes.

Cutler is currently directing and producing a feature documentary about the life and times of Martha Stewart for Netflix.

New York, NY – May 4, 2021 – Premium network EPIX¼ has announced the greenlight of Billy the Kid, written by Michael Hirst (Elizabeth, The Tudors, Vikings) and executive produced by Michael Hirst, Donald De Line (De Line Pictures), Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey (Amblin Television), and Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie (One Big Picture). The eight-episode, one-hour season will commence production this June in Calgary, AB, with an eye towards a 2022 premiere on EPIX. Billy the Kid is a co-production between EPIX Studios and MGM International Television Productions, in association with Nordic Entertainment Groups streaming service Viaplay. Bathurst is set to direct the first two episodes.

The series is an epic romantic adventure based on the life of famous American outlaw Billy the Kid, also known as William H. Bonney — from his humble Irish roots, to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond.

For a start he was so young – and for another thing, he wasn’t a psychopath who enjoyed killing, nor a criminal who robbed for material gain. He was an outlaw most of his life, but he never wanted to be. Born into a poor Irish family of immigrants, he always wanted to go straight, to be a “new American”. But he was never allowed to.

Billy’s story is much more than a fantastic drama about a charismatic cowboy – although it is that!  It’s also the story of the immigrant, and the story of the creation of the new America from the lawless, violent chaos of the mid-West and its many nations. So in the end it’s not just a story at all – it’s an American myth!”

New York, NY – April 26, 2021 – Premium network EPIX¼ announced today that Domina will premiere on June 6 at 10pm ET. The epic, sweeping eight-part drama series takes place during one of the most provocative periods in Roman history.  Filmed in Rome, Domina follows the extraordinary rise of Emperor Augustus Caesar’s third wife, Livia Drusilla, played by Kasia Smutniak (Perfetti Sconosciuti, Loro, Devils). The series will bring to life the exploits, affairs, and battles for political clout that surrounded this power couple who sat at the heart of the Roman Empire.

Smutniak leads an international ensemble cast featuring Matthew McNulty (Misfits) as future emperor Augustus (played by Tom Glynn-Carney – Dunkirk, ll re, Tolkien), Claire Forlani (Meet Joe Black) as Claudia Octavia, Gaius’ sister; Christine Bottomley (The End of the F***ing World) as Scribonia, Gaius’ first wife and Livia’s mortal enemy; Colette Dalal Tchantcho (The Witcher) as Antigone, Livia’s trusted handmaid who has been granted freedom and becomes her confidant; Ben Batt (Captain America: The First Avenger) as Agrippa, Gaius’ childhood friend, then general and later consul. The 10-episode, one-hour series will commence production this May in Halifax, NS, with an eye towards a 2022 premiere on EPIX. From is a co-production between EPIX Studios and MGM International Television Productions, and is produced by Midnight Radio and AGBO. Jack Bender (EP/Director, “Lost,” Director, “Game of Thrones and EP/Director, “Mr. Mercedes”) who will executive produce, is set to direct the first four episodes.

From unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.

SEASON TWO OF ‘WAR OF THE WORLDS’ PREMIERES ON EPIX JUNE 6

New York, NY – April 12, 2021 – War of the Worlds, written and created by BAFTA Award-winner Howard Overman (Misfits, Crazyhead, Merlin) of Urban Myth Films will premiere its eight-episode second season on EPIX on June 6 at 9pm.

Set in France and the UK, the critically-acclaimed, modern-day retelling of H.G. Wells’ classic novel has an ensemble cast, including Golden Globe winner and EMMY and Tony award nominated actor Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment), and Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award winner, Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People), along with returning cast members, LĂ©a Drucker, Natasha Little, StĂ©phane Caillard, Adel Bencherif, Ty Tennant, Stephen Campbell Moore, Bayo Gbadamosi, Aaron Heffernan and Emilie de Preissac.

In the first season of War of the Worlds, an alien attack all but wiped out mankind, with just a handful of humans fighting to survive.  And no one felt more rocked by the invasion than Emily (Daisy Edgar-Jones), who discovered she may have her own strange personal connection to the aliens.  Season two of War of the Worlds sees our characters left reeling by the possibility that the invaders could be human. A tense fight to take back the planet awaits them. For some, the sheer desperation to survive will lead them to contemplate sacrificing one of their own…

Distributed internationally by STUDIOCANAL, the drama series is executive produced by Howard Overman, Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps for Urban Myth Films. War of the Worlds was produced with support of Welsh Government funding through Creative Wales. The second season of the contemporary adaptation sees Richard Clark return to direct episodes 1-4; Ben A. Williams directs episodes 5-8.
